a tiny salad from a huge heart

While I was in Florida visiting my family the week before Christmas, I was given a tomato or a tiny salad almost every day by my brother Joel. He saved it from his lunch at school. I do like tomatoes and salad. Maybe not one that has made its way through an elementary school cafeteria, classroom, and the bus ride home. But I do love the lil hands that brought it to me. I was also given some pocket change by my four year old bro. I asked him to hold onto it for me, but he gave it to my Meme later. Hmmm, next time I will take it when I have the chance :)

I also got to hang out with a few of them on Monday. We climbed trees outside, rode bikes, and watched a movie. Oh and they had snack time about every hour.

My brothers are wild, silly, and amazingly adorable.

Christmas Day

Today I woke up for Christmas not as an excited child but as a single woman who fell asleep on my couch after the midnight candlelight service. I went in my room, turned on my music, and tried to fall back asleep. It did not work. I got out of bed and went into the kitchen to make some coffee. I sat on the couch with a perfect little breakfast of oatmeal with banana slices mixed in and my chocolate coffee. I read some Word and ate my breakfast.

I have laundry to do later this afternoon and then will go to church early evening. I wonder what Christmas will be like next year. I know that I will most likely not always be single for every Christmas. It is kind of a weird and exciting thought to think that I will have my own family to share it with someday.

For now I am content with my quiet apartment. In the future, I will be content pulling cinnamon rolls out of the oven while listening to my kids laugh.
